The 2022 Aramco Team Series came to a thrilling conclusion after a play-off in both the individual and team events. 16-year-old Golf Saudi ambassador, Chiara Noja, took on British stalwart, Charley Hull, in a play-off in the individual event. Noja triumphed on the second play-off hole after making birdie, while Hull could only make par. The team event was equally as exciting as Team Nicole Garcia won in a play-off after Casandra Alexander holed a birdie on the first extra hole to defeat Team Christine Wolf, led by their captain. The teams had finished level on 29 under after the first two rounds, and Garcia went on to win her second team event of the 2022 edition of golf's global series.

At the conclusion of day 2, it was Team Whitney Hillier that were crowned at a highly impressive 31 under par. Consisting of Krista Bakker, Chonlada Chayanun, and championship amateur, Pattanan Amatanon, all four members of the team contributed considerably to their 3 shot victory over Team Simmermacher.

On the final day’s play, it was Manon De Roey who stormed to victory with a fabulous round of 66. Claiming her maiden victory on the LET, Manon looked unphased by the task at hand and finished 3 clear of Johanna Gustavsson.  

After the team’s amateur, Mia Baker, booked their place in the play-off, Team Garcia took the title over Team Vikstrom thanks to Captain Nicole Garcia much to the delight of her teammates, Kelly Whaley and Madelene Stavnar. Bronte Law ensured the individual competition finished with fireworks! Trailing by 1 to fellow English star, Georgia Hall, playing the final hole, Bronte went on to make a 55-foot eagle putt to claim victory at 9 under par.

The Korda sisters reigned supreme in Sotogrande taking one title each. A first round 61 from Jessica led her team consisting of Tereza Melecka, Noora Komulainen, and amateur Malcolm Borwick to victory at -33. Despite Jessica taking a lead of six shots into the final round of the individual competition, it was Nelly Korda who took home the title after an impressive 67 in round 3.

In the team competition, Swedish skipper Johanna Gustavsson led a quartet that included Jessica Karlsson, Karolin Lampert and local rising star, Jennifer Rosenberg, who took advantage of perfect conditions on day two to finish on 23-under-par and take a one shot victory ahead of second placed Team Hewson. The final day of play in New York saw Lexi Thompson clinch the individual title and return to the winners’ circle for the first time in three years. Finishing at -11 and three clear of the chasing pack, Lexi showed her class throughout the week and took victory in great style.
